Building Easy Muscle In Menopause With Kaatsu – Steven Munatones

I am introducing to you something that you either never heard of, or don’t know much about. And that’s blood flow restriction training also known as BFR training. You also need to know what is Blood Flow Moderation (BFM).

It sounds scary, restricting or moderating the flow of blood in your body. Why would you do that? Well, the list is long. I personally do it, because as we lose our estrogen with menopause, we find it so much harder to build muscle as we age. And it’s not to be a body builder. It’s to NOT be frail. It’s to bounce back when we fall. And if we do get injured, we can keep our muscle mass to recover faster.

But there is so much more to BFR and BFM and we take a deep dive into it all with my guest Steven Munatones who is the CEO of the Rolls Royce of BFM bands called KAATSU.

ABOUT STEVEN MUNATONES

Steven is American, but spent a lot of time in Japan where he met Dr. Yoshiaki Sato who invented the original BFR Kaatsu bands back in 1966 to heal people with all kinds of ailments. For years Dr. Sato alongside cardiologists at the University of Tokyo Hospital tested and researched the product with over 7,000 cardiac rehab patients. Steven decided that the world needs to hear more about BFM and went on to co-found Kaatsu Global with Dr. Sato.

Now, doctors, athletes, the military, body builders, patients in recovery, biohackers and even octogenerians are going crazy for Kaatsu because it can be used to help build and maintain muscle, improve stem cell concentration, boost testosterone and elastin, lower neuropathic pain, improve brain health, blood circulation and bone health.  There is so much to unpack here, but in this episode we concentrate on building and maintaining muscle for women going through menopause…and also talk about the beauty benefits too.

KAATSU is the perfect answer for those who do not exercise, do not like to exercise, don’t have the energy to exercise, or can’t exercise due to physical limitations. I have been KAATSUing since mid February 2023. I KAATASU nearly everyday when doing housework, typing on my keyboard, watching tv, cooking, etc. My balance has improved, the girth of my upper arms has increased, and rising from a squatting position is easier. It has been one of the best investments used to improve my health.

I am happy you agree with me Katherine. I have been using Kaatsu for the last 7 months since I cannot exercise intensively and have been amazed at how it has retained and even improved my muscle mass. I am a fan!
