WHERE TO FIND A MENOPAUSE SPECIALIST
Embarking on the journey of finding a qualified menopause doctor can be a challenging task, often leaving many women feeling lost in a maze of healthcare options. Navigating the complex landscape of menopause medicine can be particularly daunting, as specialized expertise in this field is not always readily available.
Many women in North America and around the world find themselves in a predicament where the search for a knowledgeable menopause doctor becomes an arduous quest. The unique nature of menopausal health demands a practitioner with a nuanced understanding of hormonal changes, symptom management, and individualized care.
I have put together the resources that can help streamline the process of finding a healthcare professional well-versed in menopause medicine. By compiling a comprehensive list of reliable sources, our goal is to empower women to make informed decisions about their health during this transformative phase of life.
Depending on where you live, you will want to find either a menopause society, functional medicine website, ask your friends and family or do a Google search and read reviews.
I regularly update. my list with doctors I personally hear recommended by members of the Hack My Age community.
Here are a few places. to get started:
Dr. Elizabeth Yurth – Boulder Longevity Institute
Emily Williams, PA-C, NASM, CPT, CFMP, CPS – Boulder Longevity Institute
Dr. Natasha Fuksina – AstraMD Health
NaturopathOakville.com – Dr. Sarah White
Hormonal Health – Dr. Kristy Prouse
Integrative Medicine Inc – Dr. Esther Konigsberg
AmsterdamKliniek.nl – Dr. Lydia Boeken
Another avenue you can take is to call your local compounding pharmacy. Ask the pharmacist who they would recommend for bioidentical hormone therapy for menopause. Compounding pharmacists work in a laboratory that makes bioidentical hormones as directed by a doctor. Some doctors prefer to tailor make a formula for a patient based on their patients individual needs (sensitivities, absorption and other issues). These pharmacists have a unique view into what a pracitioner is doing and may know which practitioners have the best knowledge about hormone therapy.
