Got Implants? What a Plastic Surgeon Wants You to Know Before Menopause

Dr. Shaher Khan

Have you heard of breast implant illness? Do you think that maybe that feeling like you’re exhausted no matter how much you sleep, weight gain and achy joints may not be menopause, but the implants you just got or got even 30 years ago?

We cover:

  • Why breast implant illness and menopause can look almost identical, and the clues that point one way or the other

  • What the FDA warning actually says, and why most women never heard it before surgery

  • The one timeline almost nobody is told about when they get implants

  • What “silent rupture” means and how you’d actually find out

  • The questions to ask before choosing an explant surgeon, so you only have to do it once

Dr. Shaher W. Khan, MD, is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon known for his patient-centered approach and his commitment to education.
